Welcome to our new member sinntv...who asked me what are the best books about Nico.
Well, the most famous bio is Songs They Never Play On The Radio, by James Young, published by Arrow, although Young's book is a bit controversial.

My favorite books are in French:
"L'amour n'oublie jamais",ed.Pauvert, by Ari Päffgen, Nico's son.
"In Camera",ed.Cahiers de Minuit, by Serge Féray, full of documentation, precise information about the records and Philippe Garrel films.
But the book you MUST have is "Cible Mouvante", ed.Pauvert:it's a collection of ALL Nico's lyrics and her unfinished diary. It was Ari's decision to publish it in 2001.I don't know if you can find it out of Europe, you can always try.The lyrics are all in their original language and translated into French, and so is the diary. The preface is by Ari himself.

And of course there is Susan Offteringer's film Nico Icon.

Thank you for the warm welcome and advice on books about Nico ... unfortunately i don't speak French (for some reason my four years of Canadian highschool French lessons didn't work for me .. neither did dating a French grrl .. guess languages are just not my thing )

Looking forward to reading "Songs They Never Play On The Radio" and more from this group.

Thanks again !
